FLUORESCENT LIGHT GUARDS
AIANO wire mesh fluorescent light guards and LED batten guards therefore are the result of decades of experience and a constant effort to keep our manufacturing processes at the forefront of innovation. Our light guards have evolved over time, and our product designs continue to be enhanced in the light of experience.
Unlike most other products on the market AIANO guards have a strong round bar frame. Moreover, the unique design of the AIANO Classic guard includes:
- tapered ends, which provide extra strength, look attractive, and can be easily stacked when not in use.
- V-ends, which again, look attractive, but also mean that the light tube can often be changed without unscrewing the guard.
Aiano’s wire mesh fluorescent light guards and LED batten guards are manufactured in Britain from steel weld mesh and round bar manufactured in Britain and the European Union. We use only high quality steel in our products.
AIANO wire mesh light guards are powder coated white for indoor use, or hot-dip galvanised for outdoor use.

How to choose your fluorescent light guard
It is important to have some distance between the light fitting and the guard – we call this clearance. The strength of wire mesh comes from its ability to absorb impact. If the guard is too close to the fitting there is a risk of the mesh ‘giving’ and damaging the light fitting it is designed to protect. Therefore selecting the correct guard size is of paramount importance.
When we calculate the size of fluorescent light guards or LED batten guards we will typically add the following clearance to the fitting size:
- length – 75 mm
- width – 40 mm
- depth from the ceiling – 75 mm
